Rock Out Music School

Tutors

To be a tutor at one of our music schools you have to fulfil a number of very important criteria. Perhaps the most important is that you're not already a music teacher. Most music teachers already have a preconceived idea of how things should be taught and we do things a bit differently.

All of our tutors are local musicians and extremely proficient in one or more instruments. They must be excellent communicators, patient, dedicated to imparting knowledge and be prepared to learn how we deliver our course material to our students.

There is a long waiting list of people wanting to become Rock Out tutors so we can afford to be choosy.

Apart from delivering the course material and teaching the specific instrument, we like our tutors to become friends and even mentors to the people they are teaching. Children are more inclined to listen and learn when they aspire to be like the person they are learning from.

All of our tutors have a good deal of other things going on in their musical lives apart from teaching for Rock Out! Most are in bands, some are recording, others are studying to attain higher qualifications. Some can often be seen playing front of audiences in their hundreds and even thousands. We feel that if they're doing interesting things musically, their students will want to as well.

We want to offer more than just a music lesson.

All of our tutors are Enhanced CRB checked.
